First Production Skateboard from Jon Hammond Collection with his Sennheiser Headphones and Mic

Jon's Roller Derby Skate Board circa 1959

Jon Hammond uses his Sennheiser HD 25-1 Headphones the industry standard, so much

that they appear to be disintegrating but still work and sound excellent.

 His emergency

use microphone is a Sennheiser e604 originally designed for mic'ing up drums, with

his custom made short cable from NDR Radio engineers, it can be plugged in

to any available input on short notice for announcements and voiceovers

The closed-back HD 25-1 IIs are purpose-designed, professional monitoring headphones offering high attenuation of background noise. Capable of handling very high sound pressure levels and of extremely robust construction, these headphones perform exceptionally well in high-noise environments, e.g. ENG, sound reinforcement, studio monitoring and audio equipment testing. The capsule is rotatable for one-ear listening. Ideal monitoring headphones for cameramen and DJs.

*note: Jon's windscreen on e604 is now held on by Scotch Tape
The e 604 is a cardioid microphone especially suitable for use with drums and brass instruments.
Features
  • Rugged reinforced glass-fibre body
  • Low sensitivity to impact and handling noise
  • Very high sound pressure handling capability
  • Low distortion microphone
  • Hum compensating coil

Roller Derby Skateboard

First introduced in 1959, the Roller Derby skateboard was the first mass-produced skateboard. It was basically a one-tip wooden plank with modified roller skates attached to it. Completely lacking features which nowadays are common for skateboards, the Roller Derby had no concave or even kicktails, not to mention grip tape, and like all early skateboards, it featured steelwheels which offered little to no grip on most riding surfaces.
